I've been busy lately, so I couldn't up date the blog.
But I'm here!!!! Finally :D
Okay, this time, I will talking about dating.
Well, it is not easy topic.... Hmmmm,,,,,
First, I think I should discuss about the differences between American and Japanese dating style.
OkiDoki.
America and Japan have a lot of differences on their culture.
So, dating style is also different.
In America, "Date" means a man and a woman go to somewhere (or do something together) to get to know each other. Looking for boyfriend / girlfriend. (maybe husband/wife)
Is it right?
On the other hand, "date" means in Japan is that, a couple go to somewhere(or do something) to spend time with their boyfriend/girlfriend.
I think the meaning of "date" or the style of "date" has been changing recently in Japan.
But usually if you want to date with a girl/boy, you should be her/his boyfriend/girlfriend before you go out with her/him.
You might ask me a question "How Japanese people get to know each other before they go out with somebody?"
Well, people hang out with a girl/boy as friends. Sometimes just two of them, sometimes with friends.
or nowadays, people get to know each other on line :P
I like American dating style.
Cuz we can get to know different people.
But it is kinda complicating. Because It is hard to identify if he asking me to go on a date with him or just friendly offer....... you know
Now, I wanna ask you that "How people identify date and hang out?"
hahaha, but seriously it is really hard to identify.
Anyways, this is a one of difference between American and Japanese dating style :)
Well, this is all for today (cuz I need to get some sleep :P ), but I will talk other differences later.
wow! that is so interesting! I had no idea that "date" meant something so different there than here. was it weird when you got here and everyone was going on "dates" when they weren't boyfriend/girlfriend?
ReplyDeleteIt was so weird to me. hahaha
ReplyDeleteBut I learned American style "date". then now I understand. (I still learning though :P)
I was going on date few times when I was in U.S. kinda fun, but Sometimes I didn't expect it was date until we go to somewhere. (Okay I'll talk more about it later on my blog :) )
Anyways, dates in U.S. is nice, but complicating.
Oh, they are complicated for sure. Lots of "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??" going though your head alllllllll the time haha :)
